To be fair, we always shipped people. We just moved from shipping celebrities to fictional characters. Gay is the new trend, and while many are legitimately trying to create equality for both sides, many are also just joining the gay-train and are just creating gay ships. The funny thing is that they are trying to do that cheap thing of where the guy and girl that had no romantic chemistry get together, only it’s fans, and they’re both girls.

The whole thing is crazy anymore. When did the world go to opposite day? Any show with women or girls in it that are friends the talk in chats and fandoms is dominated by how they are so lesbian for eachother and they aren’t friends she is totally doing it because she is lesbian for her and it is soo good that they are being so progressive because you can tell their end goal is a lesbian couple. Then when it ends up that they have boyfriends..in comes the screaming about homophobia. When did kids heros and role models stop being doctors,nurses,firemen,policemen,judges,pilots,and scientists and start being..all this?

Agreed. And most of what I have seen is they think that by forcing everyone to have every relationship be gay or turn gay..they think it makes them seem like a wonderful loving person because of it. Right after they got done screaming at a fanfic writer for making vinyl scratch like a male dj pony and octavia fall for her male band mate. That just makes the more of a hypocrite and a bigot than anyone else. Its kinda creepy actually.

Agreed. I see people only doing gay ships, and even a image of Shining and Cadance having sex with Shining thinking of a guy the whole time (I would go into how it infuriated me, but that’s a topic for another place). I don’t ship much, and the few I do ship are straight. While I haven’t got any hate (mostly since I don’t draw as much as I should and voice my objection at certain ships rather than at the genders of the ship), I’ve seen images calling people who don’t ship Lyra and Bon Bon (A ship I feel is over rated) homophone. I’m sure that heterophobic is real, and that there are people in the world with this fear and are trying to overcome it (there’s a phobia for everything, and we usually can’t choose what our’s is), I feel that what we’re referring to is just the opposite of when people hated homosexuality, but more because it’s “new and popular” more than anything else. It’s just moving from one extreme to another.

It’s really odd actually the way they react to straight ships.It’s almost like they are heterophobic (if that is a word).I have seen people be accused of homophobia simply for preferring a straight ship over a gay ship as well as people having to “prove” they aren’t homophobic by stating how many gay ships they ship like there is some strange requirement now to be approved by them and deemed a decent person.

In all seriousness, a big part of it is that Flash only personality, Tween girl’s wet dream. I ship them myself, but I understand if others don’t. It at least makes more since than Rarity X Twilight.
