Because thoraxspike is a play on the whole “character x character” sort of tags, but since thorax ends with an X anyway, thoraxspike fits in a pun sort of way.
It’s not just the kissing, it’s the positioning of the bodies. Either one I think is enough that most people on the outside world would be alarmed.

Exactly ,due to the overlay music it distorts the word Spike is saying when he says “s/he’s my friend!”

Never. At least, for some. Half of us thought he said “he”. The other half, “she”. Nopony can be proven right for one reason. The audio of the commercial is not very good, and it’s difficult to understand.

To be fair ,it lacks “eyelashes” and any obvious feminine traits.
I’d be stoked as heck if it turns out to be female but regardless, it seems it’ll be this changeling and Spike for the episode.
