Can’t say I do, though I’ve had my Tumblrs nuked a couple of times since 2013, as well as a couple of people trying to guilt shame me, most notably in 2014, IDK if any of those were related.

It was a loosely-defined combo-fandom of people who were rrreeeaaalllyyy into the Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock TV shows, and while it started out as just a big goofy “hugbox” that mostly focused on generating memes and animated GIFs and crossover fanfics/fan art, it eventually turned into one of the most seething hatebag “callout culture” monstrosities on Tumblr. Remember how ugly and poisonous everything turned back when all the DWM-type people discovered that Pony fans were starting to get into Steven Universe, and they went on an anti-brony Children’s (TV) Crusade to Pony artists’ blogs and DA accounts deleted with false claims and spam attacks, and just generally spewed hate and bile at anything that didn’t look like them? It was like that, but SuperWhoLock people were mostly doing it to themselves. They’d just started metastasizing into other fandoms and onto other social media sites when DashCon hit, and it wasn’t long after that when the worst of them just… dried up and stopped posting, and a lot of the shrillest blogs nuked themselves and deleted everything. I haven’t seen hardly anything about any of the three shows on Tumblr from any of the multifandom blogs I follow in over a year, even from the ones who used to be big (non-jerkbag) fans and complained about the nastiness a lot.

I guess you can win for losing if ya lose hard enough.

I’ve seen a post on Tumblr recently that put forth the idea that DashCon was what killed SuperWhoLock; that it was so very horrid that it essentially shocked tens of thousands of the worst and most crapulous cross-fandom fans into personal epiphanies about how badly they had been wasting their lives, and the whole belligerent Tumblr fandom mashup concept just sort of quietly died away.
 
It turns out DashCon… was actually a good and necessary thing for the entire internet.
