Talk about a trip. This series used to look so different and even seemed to take place in a different “universe” then AT&F current. I am glad the style changed, and I am happy to see Flash disappear… for now.

As one of the two parties involved at the start of the said “drama”, it wasn’t drama at all. You want to ship them? Go right ahead. I’ve seen pics between the two of them that I rather liked myself. What started all the so-called “drama” was a misunderstanding. I thought someone was referring to the show when they claimed that there was obvious feelings of this nature between the two of them and that it “makes sense” for them to be together.
 
That misunderstanding was on me. But the follow-up was several people arguing about how Twilight responds to Spike in the show, and what annoyed me was when someone claimed my description of their relationship seemingly varying between episodes was “just as much headcanon as anything else.” No, it’s not. It’s right there in the show.
 
In short, ship them if you want, I don’t care. But don’t tell someone they’re just headcanoning when they’re describing something from the show. That would be like telling someone that “Dash is competitive” or “Fluttershy isn’t very assertive” was “just their headcanon.”

Oh no, I’m not a TwiSpike shipper. I dislike any ship that involves Spike with the ponies. I just had to say my one point.
 
Well, if you’re saying there’s in show evidence, it isn’t headcanon. They have an odd relationship. But I see it more as a sibling relationship, with Twi being a lot older than him, so yeah, she’s protective of him, but she’s not above lightly teasing him and poking fun at him. It’s what siblings do. Just because your a sibling or a mother doesn’t mean teasing and protecting are mutually excluding to each one. My mother teases and pokes fun of me and my sisters. It’s not like only one does one thing.
 
In the end I agree with your earlier points. Her fluctuating behavior is observable in the show and doesn’t really point to there being “canon evidence” of them wanting to be in a relationship.

Do you antagonize or tease your sisters? Do you poke fun at them? Well guess what? Twilight has too over 6 years. One episode has Twilight gently making fun of him, the next might see her acting protective of him. That is what I’m talking about.
 
You Twispike shippers think I’m just crapping all over your ship. Ship whoever you want, but don’t tell me that the in-show relationship hasn’t gone back and forth on the two ends I mentioned and tell me that’s “my headcanon.”

Except it was a one-time throwaway gag about how attracted he was to Rarity: Even someone completely different with her hair style got his attention. Ship all you want, but my earlier point still stands. Twilight goes back and forth on those two ends.
