Description
Emerald tells the others that they just need to stall for a bit until Joyride gets here. They nod, and then wait for the ponies to approach closer. When they do Emerald says not to come any closer and asks why they are following them.
“We weren’t following you. At least not at first. We were following Ms. Hope.” the stallion says, not ceasing to walk towards them. “ But don’t worry your head lil’ lady. We just want to talk to your young friend there.”
Emerald wonders if he should pull out his weapons. Emerald scrutinizes them closer and notices they don’t appear to be armed.
Emerald is about to say something, but then Ruby forestalls him and whispers, “Don’t worry. I’m used to lying to government people. i got this.”
She then hops out and says, “How can I help ya?”
“We were just wondering who you got that letter from Ms…?” The mare says as they get closer.
“My name is Rose. A stallion gave it to me and said he’d pay me 5 bits if I dropped it off to you. Tall guy, pale gray and super thin. Really wispy mane that was also gray with white streaks.” Ruby says, and Emerald must admit that he is impressed with her lying.
“And his cutie mark?” The stallion says.
“Don’t remember.”
“Where’d you get the robe you were wearing? Ponycare generally don’t go handing those out to just anyone.”
“He gave it to me. Said I’d be able to get up to your tent easier with it, and he took it back after he gave me my bits.”
“Whaddya think, Praelia?” The stallion says to the mare.
“I think someone is lying to us, Bellator.” The mare says back, “You know what Rose? The Order of the Arrow, that’s us by the way, don’t take lies very well. If we told our boss Uictoria about it she’d come over and be a lot less nice about getting the truth out of you. We don’t want to see that happen any more than you.”
What does Emerald do?

Hmm, as startling of a revelation as that is, I get the feeling they would of somehow been able to track where the letter came from. Cause I don’t know how else Joy is gonna find us. But then again, she’s kinda op, so maybe that’s just her. But shit, sending it by dragonfire lamp might of been a good solution to make it harder for them to figure out who sent the letter, that’s an interesting point to bring up.

Either way, their “bluff” is already getting on my nerves. I wish we would of been sneakier about the whole thing too, but I honestly was having a hard time of thinking how to be sneaky about it.
The Passive Aggressive tone is a bit concerning, but I think I’ve seen enough cop movies and shows where they usually do something like that to trick the suspect into fessing up. I could be wrong but I’m thinking it might be a bluff on their part. At least I hope it is. In any case Ruby says that she’s got this and so we’re going to have to put faith in her abilities and hope that we don’t need to expose ourself in order to bail her out.

Yeah, I forgot about talking to that pony beforehand, it feels kinda bs to me that they were able to put things together like that. I would of thought those two order members wouldn’t of really gotten a good look at Ruby enough to even begin to figure out who she is. Not to mention i’m already not fond of the passive aggressive tone they just used when addressing her. I really hope we didn’t end up throwing Ruby to the wolves.
I agree I’m glad we sent the letter. I just wish we did a better job of sending it. I think we did it too soon after we got to camp and we were not being stealthy enough. We should’ve realized after Ruby talked to that pony that her cover was blown…
We just need to puttz around long enough for Joy to show up. Even though i’m glad we decided to give them the letter and hopefully get some help for Venator and Alacris, this is quickly becoming more of a nuisance for us than we probably should of took upon ourselves.
They might be bluffing as well when quickly claiming it’s a lie. They might be testing whether she’ll crack or not.
