zygons undergo a process to turn them into sterile members of the warrior caste, who are tough as frack
apparantly humans are quite vulnerable to this process as well, but that might just have been the show being emo and inconsistent again
Maybe when they’re transformed. But the Dr. Who Wiki says they’re supposed to be stronger than humans.

Yeah…just remembered the second one. and If i’m not mistaken the doctor said multiple times (outside the comic) that zygon bodies are frail did he not? why did Spike’s attack do nothing?
A: You’re thinking of the wrong monster.
B: The Doctor JUST mentioned the venom sacs. And would you rather it had used it’s canon ability to shoot electrical bolts and fried Spike on the spot?
Fast enough to block an acid spit, too slow to do ANYTHING AT ALL.
Time for classic Doctor Who to put this murderous, traitorous gecko to death. PERMANENTLY. The only good Spike is a DEAD SPIKE.
He might not want to risk it with ponies in the room. We don’t know the kind of area it will hit.
