Indeed, though it’s not quite that expensive, depending on what rigger you talk to. Even if you don’t use your reserve, it needs to be inspected and repacked after 3 months. Riggers have little seals or stickers with their certificate number they put over the closing pin of a reserve they pack - it’s proof that they did the job and the reserve has not been used since then.
Your main parachute a recreational vehicle, your toy, and it’s on you to take care of it. Your reserve parachute is a life-saving device.
