To me, it looks like they go from this larval form (in the center) to a pupa (in the foreground) and then emerge as regular changelings.

I choose to believe the lumps in the foreground are pupae; they’re about the right shape.
Now I want to see how they look when they pupate.
or maybe she just doesn’t care as long as they act like good canonfodder.
Maybe Crysalis didn’t notice him being different before.
He was in the Canterlot invasion so she does not dissposed of him.
I was wondering about that. I thought that maybe Crysalis lets Thorax-like changelings wander off to starve in the wilderness. Or maybe she disposes of them herself, the way Spartans did. Or lions do.
My theory is , they all hid how they felt to fit in. We know Kevin exists so there are at least two friendlings.
who knows, maybe more changelings are born like him, he just never realized it because he figured he was the only one and thus never looked.
I guess he is one in one million?
