While Snails does appear to be manipulating more discrete objects than Twilight in these two pictures, bear in mind that Twilight appears to be walking on water rather than levitating a solid object, and her three objects seem to be balls of water – which I would suspect are much more challenging to hold with telekinesis.
 
Still, Snails does seem to be fairly good at TK compared to the average Ponyville unicorn (at least among those interested in trying out for a buckball team).

The ability to annhilate a planet is insignificant compared to the power of the Horse.
