I kind of feel that in a lot of ways, she isn’t reformed yet. The mane 6 all know each other’s darkest demons and are ok with each other despite that, but it looks like Starlight is being written as still hiding what’s going on inside her and is trying to act the part of someone who is reformed.

In a lot of ways, I think part of the reason that she’s living with Twilight is that her time loop was the first problem Twilight couldn’t solve, and letting some pony with that much magical ability lose on the world was a worse idea than adopting her.

And after a season of obsessively focusing on impressing her own mentor, Twilight really hasn’t done a whole lot to really become friends with Starlight aside from just being around her a lot and giving her a lot of lists of things to try.

And in the end, it looks like Starlight is going to have the same authority figure issues that Twilight does, and we might get to see what Starlight’s Lesson Zero looks like. If that happens, it will be interesting to see if Twilight handles it as gracefully as Celestia did hers.
