The Empress, Lady Yin, enjoys to spend time at the various lotus ponds that dot the valley of Neigh-Beyul. During her bath, she finds a small group of baby mandarin ducklings who seem to have lost their mother. She decides to take them under her wing…almost literally, and protects them while they await their mother’s return.

Staff picks candidates and votes on them. The only hard requirement for a Featured image is that it can’t be spoilered or hidden by the default site filter (most importantly, it has to be safe rated and not require “seizure warning”). Everyone on staff has slightly different criteria to what they nominate and how they vote: some like to pick older art that went unnoticed in its time (hence the years-old features with double-digit sometimes even sub-50 scores at the start of their showcase), some like funny pictures, some like cute pictures, some like impressive artistry; every now and then we realise some popular artist who’s been in the community for ages has never been features so we pick something from them… Some only nominate art featuring their fave character(s), some go out of their way to nominate less popular ones and OCs, and so on.
