Description

Celestia and Luna walked with their (extremely excited) daughters down the hallway towards the balcony. It would be the first time Star got to see her aunt raise the moon, since at this time of night she was to be sleeping - but after begging from both Lullaby and her daughter, Celestia gave in and let her stay up the extra hour. Lullaby always got to see her mother raise the moon, but the idea of her cousin seeing it for the first time made her just as excited as Star was.

Lullaby: “Hurry, Star!”

Star: “I’m coming!” Star ran just behind her cousin who was already flying up to stand on the railing.

Luna: “Lullaby Night, I will not continue to repeat myself. Remove yourself from a top that railing and stand a safe distance away from falling.”

Luna spoke with authority, but her daughter scoffed - she’d be fine! Luna would let it pass for now, perhaps the best way to get a lesson through her daughter’s head was to let her take the fall. She’d catch her of course!

Celestia: “Star, get a good look. Watching the moon rise can be quite a beautiful sight.” Celestia smiled toward her daughter as she stood up to look over the railing.

She watched as her mother lowered the sun, it was a little sad to see it go - but once she saw her aunt step up closer and the moon make it’s way up to the skies, she couldn’t help but be mesmerized watching the scenery change.

The moon was only halfway up before Lullaby had stood up and spread her bat wings - catching her mother’s attention with a bit of surprise.

Luna: “Lul~~?”

Lullaby: “Relax, mother! Allow me to continue to raise the moon! With my lucky bells, I can do anything!” Lullaby poked the bell that hung from her neck. A hoof-made bell from her father, no doubt. She only wore items her father made for her. Lullaby stood and spoke confidently ~~ Star was a little convinced that her cousin could actually do such a thing!

Luna couldn’t help but smile at her confident daughter. Lullaby loved the moon just as much as she had - it gave her a warm, fuzzy feeling seeing her daughter enjoy the night.

Star looked up at her mother, and spoke with both excitement and curiosity.

Star: “Can Lullaby really make the moon rise!?”

Celestia smiled at her daughter - a knowing smile which meant she knew the answer, but she wasn’t going to say.

Celestia: “There are many wonders and abilities you and your cousin have yet to discover. Perhaps, one day, she could.”

Star looked down to where her cutie mark would be. Bother her and Lullaby didn’t have theirs yet, but maybe Lullaby could move the moon like her mother!

After (what seemed like several long, awkward, seconds) a very frustrated Lullaby gave a loud bat-screech - effectively only giving Star a slight headache. Lullaby collapsed on the railing, pouting as she looked at the still moon. Luna then raised the moon the rest of the way up and gave her distraught daughter and quick nuzzle.
