I think you mean the Farmer and the Viper. Farmer saves viper from freezing to death and viper bites and kills him.
Aesop stories offer such invigorating ideas. The wolf in sheep’s clothing, the spider and the fly, the mouse and the lion.
wait i remembered the version that the scorpion/snake was just saved by it’s eventual victim
