I think for all intents and purposes, we can pretend the events of the montage never happened.
I’m not sure if Starlight even interacted with Twilight’s friends outside of No Second Prances and Every Little Thing She does.
Well, there is that book I haven’t read, I suppose D:
That is something I’ve considered as well.
Or, the montage WAS intended to be in the future, but the episode’s animation was finalized before Starlight’s art upgrade.

Even if she did, this particular time baking with her is a friendship lesson. Which she’s clearly on edge about constantly.

Where you may have a good time when you’re actually doing some activity with someone else, but you absolutely dread the time leading up to it, or worse, initiating it, no matter how many times you’ve done it before and everything was fine
Also, just because she ended up happy after baking with her one time doesn’t mean she wasn’t worrying like crazy beforehand and could relapse if she had to bake again in a different situation.
But yeah, most likely they forgot to take into account a few second scene from a montage in a previous episode.
