that’s how I feel. if a pony wants to, they can change their name when they get their mark.
it is this, or parents/society in Equestria name children for purposes and fully expect them to fulfill them, with training from the earliest of childhoods for it. some ponies live without such pressures, like Fluttershy or Twist.

I always think it’s a mistake to name a pony for something that happens later in life, unless it’s ironic like Broken Clouds.
