@RainbowDash69
It’s like “Call of Battlefield 7” where you buy this $60 game just to play it, then they come back and say “we’re selling you on-disc content for $14 extra per pack. You already have a choice of 8 maps, but if you buy our ‘DLC’ we’ll give you another 20 maps for free, plus 30 other weapons and cosmetics! Ship us $5 extra and we’ll put your name in a raffle where you can get twenty of the same item or one of this EXTREMELY RARE pick-up! Remember, the only way you don’t win is if you don’t pay us!”

This is what some artist do nowadays, and it’s nauseating.

Okay, two things before I start…

  1. I have NO issues with artists making their money.
  2. I am very supportive of the fact that artists have patreons where they display their art and then allow for it to become public in the following weeks.

    Now, allow me to begin.
    I fucking HATE this. This is what many consider as paywall content. Now because of the two reasons I’ve stated before, I will make this argument because it needs to be thrown out there… again.

    Paywalling is something that divides an artist from much of their viewer base. It would be like if I told someone (being a musician) that in order to have me play you have to pay me, and then go to guitar center to rent an instrument for me to play on, an amp to play out of, then pay for my gas, and finally take me out to dinner on your own pocket. People who already support you will buy into your art, you have to be patient. But for it to become an issue where you remove your core audience from seeing your full work with this logo plastered all over the place for censorship like we’re purchasing the next installment of Girls Gone Wild is not going to fly.

    Furthermore, it tiers your followers into separate groups. You have the ones who can’t view it because they either can’t afford to or busy supporting other artists. Then you have the ones who can’t look at anything more than rough sketches, then you have the ones who can’t see past a wip, then there are the ones who see the full work in standard definition (obviously what you are displaying here). There’s too much division.

    Now enough about my pet peeves. Let’s go to the grit of the situation and why you’re getting downvoted, Felinesyndr0me.

    First, your muzzle is off. Her muzzle looks like it protruding from her face, and not in a good way.
    Second, the patreon logo censor is not how you want your introductory fandom piece to go. This creates distrust.
    Third, I can understand your rewards are reasonable, but for many this is a very off-putting method of advertisement.
    Fourth, her cutie mark is not that high up.
    Fifth, every other patreon picture containing explicit content is uncensored except for this one genre in particular.

    This would be better received if this wasn’t a patreon-promotion production. But this is a no-go for many on this site.
    Continue to draw, but learn how to market yourself to a demographic better than this.
