That’s what I was getting at, she says she plans to have all the love brought to her and then that’s the extent of it, she doesn’t say anything else that can be considered bad and like you said proceeds to say it will last the changelings for generations. Seriously Discord is far far worse than she ever was and everyone gave him a chance even though he didn’t deserve it all same with Starlight.
She didn’t even say that much, just that the plan was to have the love flow to her and the very next sentence is that her people will feed on it for generations.
Probably because not every changeling will be out and about while the plan is going on.
Oh yeah you know it, that 2 seconds in the finale where she says she wants all the love that the writers threw in at the last minute really made her irredeemable, no way we could look at her other motives in any other episode or piece of official literature that says otherwise no that one moment of exposition is infallibly perfect and wraps up her entire character, truly there was nothing else to her character.
If you think Chrysalis is irredeemable and literally all of the other villains aren’t you’re a hypocrite.
Edited
Aye, Chrysalis deserves it, with how tyrannical she’s acted.
Concurred with everything. Chrysalis doesn’t have an ounce of redeemable force in her entire being. To me, Tartarus to be bunk mates with Tirek or ‘un-alived’ like Sombra are the only outcomes for her character now that her role has been replaced by Thorax. Meanwhile, the changelings deserve the happiness they’ve obtained with Thorax. Chrysalis only ever wanted them to be weapons for her.
Edited
i can say that chryssalis has the best reasons to be evil, she wants (or wanted) to put a mark on equestria for her race, a race that turned on her, her own sons and daughters. and now she lost twice, she was humiliated by her own kind, and if that’s not enough for her to get really pissed and declare war then i don’t know what it is, and that would also prove that she had second thoughts for her changelings, she wanted them to have love and get feed but also wanted them to be soldiers, to be weapons. and that’s why she’s my favorite villain of mlp
as for starlight, i can call her “season 1 twilight” where she was learning about friendship for the very first time and also made mistakes using magic and stuff which isn’t a bad thing, we remember how silly twilight was on season 1 right?
I know right! I’m glad I finally made an account, and that I joined in on the fun. Even if I created “walls of text” (in my posts), since it was a civil, insightful, and wacky conversation (at some points lol), I think this is a good thing. People can discuss topics at hand without creating “drama in the comments,” and this is good in terms of promoting community amongst fellow users. Plus, it’s less crap for the mods to deal with, and allows them to join in on the fun too. All in all, it’s a win-win scenario.
You could say that: ||

We turned a meme image into an actual healthy outlet for discussion so yeah, I am proud of us :D
Agreed, the comics and the show should stay within their own universe, mutually exclusive from each other. Yeah, as a fan of Starlight, even I see that her reformation was rushed. Indeed, Sunset’s was literally just her getting blasted by a rainbow, and then pulls a 180. While rushed as all hell, Starlight’s had some amount of buildup to it. But I think we can all agree that it should have been fleshed out and paced MUCH better. Even so, I still like Sunset and Starlight as characters equally (no pun intended.) Initially, I wasn’t too happy about Glim Glam’s reformation. Not so much because of her backstory, or because of her actions, but mainly because I REALLY liked her so much as a villain!
In other words, what you’re saying about having no villains because they get reformed (cuz friendship solves EVERYTHING.) Having all the villains doing this eliminates any conflict. Given how messed up she was, Glim Glam needed some kind of help, so I can see why she was reformed (though it wouldn’t have killed them to give her community service or something, similar to Sunset.) Plus, she wasn’t like the previous BigBads, in that she wasn’t “evil for the sake of being evil, or evil for the sake of power.” That, and she was just a pony and a well intentioned extremist, but with dubious principles. This was an interesting idea, and refreshing to see for a change. As for what you said about Chrysalis, I agree (and if they do, then I’m glad they held off on doing this right away.)
With that said, what are your thoughts on Starlight in season 6, especially in the finale (since people seem to be more focused on the changelings’ transformation?) :)
I don’t think I’ve ever done on a picture I posted before.
Congratulations I hope you’re proud of yourselves
the comics aren’t cannon (thank God for that) so if they know what’s the best for the show they wouldn’t make what went wrong in the comics and put it in the show, also starlight’s reform was completely out of the sudden (and also sunset shimmer) and if chryssalis got reformed there it would be the same old thing again.
one more thing, what would mlp be without villains? without villains the show gets boring, cuz we know that friendship will solve everything and they’ll be the good guys. honestly, petrify or arrest her would make it a freaking lot better than this whole redemption bullshit
@Pagan
Good god you two! We have children looking!
Whoa!
>First Barbie horse (Glim Glam) “took over” the show (as some people have stated)
>Rereads my insanely facetious crack scenario about Sombra and Chrysalis getting reformed and turned into an Alicorn prince and princess respectively.
>Reads your comment about “The new writers are IDW”
>Makes the connection to the comic where Sombra gets reformed
>Coincidence? I think not!
Oh. My. God… I knew it, and I didn’t even realize it! XD
Edited because: Grammar tweak
Yep, it never ceases to surprise me what will become canon next.
I suppose, but it would depend on what comics you’re referring to, or the “comedic” gags that are present in them. However, I wouldn’t know because I haven’t really read too much into them. I’ve read some of them, but eventually stopped because I simply lost interest. I don’t hate them like some people do because I don’t know enough about them (aside from what I have read, and from the drama that I’ve heard from some people.)
Well, at least that’s a logical reaction to this drama-triggering scenario. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people would defenestrate their computer monitor out of sheer rage, if this hypothetically became canon. XD
I don’t blame anyone for liking it, but to me it’s more a shame than anything else. Especially because it could be a lot better.
Honestly this finale felt like it was written by IDW, It’s resemblance to siege was uncanny. I mean think about it a group of non main characters goes on a mission to do something disruptive while the actual main characters are captured, there’s a special snowflake character who we have only seen twice in total, and instead of chrysalis getting changed through a magic ass pull it was the majority of her race and it was the special snowflake that causes it.
Oh my god the new writers are actually IDW it all makes sense now.

Isn’t it amazing the stuff that becomes canon?
@OP The OP Electrode
@Pagan
Isn’t it amazing the stuff that could become canon if the show writers actually read the comics? D:
“Chrysalis and Sombra (who survived because of his horn) team up, and get defeated. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN, Chrysalis gets redeemed and becomes the next alicorn princess. AND IT DOESN’t STOP THERE, Sombra gets purified/redeemed and becomes the first Alicorn prince in Equestria! And then the fandom goes completely nuts and has an aneurysm, while Larson sees this and has the biggest smile on his face! Hahahah, I merely joke! XD “
This wouldn’t even surprise me anymore. I’d be briefly happy when King Sombra is back and evil. And when he gets purified I’d go. “Well, I should have seen this coming really.”
Edited
Aye, I see what you mean.
No, I haven’t really read the comics (not a big fan of them,) but I have heard that people weren’t too happy about this. Then again, the comics don’t seem to be popular, so this comes as no surprise.
Edit: Except, it would be worse because it would be canon.
Edited because: Extra tidbit & grammar error tweak
Have you read the comics? They did that to Sombra, he’s not a villain anymore and he looks completely different now thanks to more magic bullcrap.
I actually don’t mind the aesthetic design itself because of how it reminds me of the rainbow stag beetle, and how it pertains to the running theme of the rainbow with respect to “the magic of friendship” (as I mentioned earlier.) However, I think it would have been better if the changelings in the hive had a more subtle change to emphasize the uniqueness of Thorax from the others. But hey, what can ya do? Either way, I’m curious about what their role in season 7 will be. Same, I would imagine a lot of drama if Chrysalis were reformed. If she does later on, then I’m glad the writers decided to hold of on doing this right away. After all, it would be Glim Glam drama all over again. Or heck, it would be like Twilicorn.
Chrysalis and Sombra (who survived because of his horn) team up, and get defeated. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN, Chrysalis gets redeemed and becomes the next alicorn princess. AND IT DOESN’t STOP THERE, Sombra gets purified/redeemed and becomes the first Alicorn prince in Equestria! I don’t understand how he became good. I like the idea but he came out of nowhere. I think Thorax would’ve benefited from some more development. I know this is one of those buzzwords that get thrown around all the time, but it’s true. MLP has developed the tendency of trying to develop season-wide story arcs without really doing that. It’s kinda excusable because it’s how MLP works: disconnected episodes most of the time. Well then, maybe the cartoon isn’t fit for this kind of story. All it needs to do is change. It’s not like people would complain about better developed characters.
I assume that he was raised as all the other changelings were but for some reason he just became different and the others didn’t. Ain’t he a cute little special snowflake? I think he would’ve benefited from more exposition so that we could learn about him and how he became the way he did.
Then he happens to hold the key to freeing all the changelings from their evil queen and all it took was a speech from Starlight Glimmer. Then all the changelings did a 180° on a dime and turned on Chrysalis.
Not only that, but he also becomes the king.
I’m just glad he didn’t turn to a red and black alicorn with a cracked horn, married Celestia and Luna, made a bunch of children with them and saved Equestria every weekend.
Can I have some of your awesomeness Thorax? You have a little too much of it.
I did say unpopular opinion.
