She kind of did it to prove that she was more fit to run the farm than him, and his refusal to listen to her pushed her too much.
Which is weird since it was HER blabbing that got them into the massive trouble in the first place BECAUSE she shut him up and wouldn’t listen to him.
No, I think realizing that listening to his sister instead of talking about himself all the time caused him to talk less, no drama required. It’s harder to listen to others when you’re talking all the time.
