A lot of security jobs at conventions, especially ones not sponsored by companies, have volunteers for it. Sometimes they hire but a lot of people working it have dedicated time to the convention leading up to the actual event. There will always be people who are not trained or even fit.

You forget that fat people are one of the largest acceptable targets in the Western world. It’s not like a lot of members here will be helpful.

You know what’s the biggest problem here? (aside from his future health problems, of course) That many people on the verge of obesity will see him and say to themselves: “Hey, it’s not really that bad with me, after all” while eating another Oreo and feeling justified…
