The Society is perhaps the only place where non-changelings will ever witness the ‘Giving of the Flame’, when a changeling offers his or her ‘Love’ to their special somepony in the form of their own personal ‘Fire of Devotion’. Changelings are the only race known to be able to externalize their own Fire of Devotion, manifest as their changeling magic (most commonly seen when they shapeshift) and as an offering of ‘Love’ when they ‘Give their Flame’ to somepony they consider very special. It is a very intimate affair, and anypony fortunate enough to be on the receiving end should treat it with the same level of respect and loving consideration of one receiving a marriage proposal.
I would say screw that. I’ve seen and read a lot of alternative in many things in this fandom that I’ve learned to ignore what’s canon or not canon and take each story on their own.
If one would wish to take what the show present into account then good for them, if not….good for them as well.
I personally would completely ignore what I believe is a very lazy idea of how changeling works despite coming from the show.
Hm… that is actually very true. I completely forgot about the finale and that fact… woops. Although, I do prefer Ling’s black chitin.
