You’d be surprised. Increasing the opponents card costs for a turn can be important to blocking combos and can easily throw a wrench in your opponents plans. You’re just paying 1 mana up-front to restrict your opponents options later. It’s by no means a fast card, since deathrattles are slow by nature, but it balances it out pretty well.
