I think in dr. who you can interact with your past self just fine, assuming you remember interacting with your future self (or have memory wipey shenanigans)
 
twilight interacted just fine with her past self that one time. though she caused a stable time loop, so it might have had a “temporal inertia” style of time where you can’t change the past because yadda yadda reasons coincidences.
 
with the S5 finale, it was pretty firmly established that MLP is a homestuck style multiverse, with one alpha timeline that’s “more real” than the others, but no paradox problems at all.
 
and all that might have nothing to do with this comic because we don’t know what rules gashiboka is using for time travel.

Dr. Who universe strongly forbids interacting with your own past… Like, it’s a huge deal.
 
But other times it’s like, “Nah, just kiddin’, we’ll have all the Doctors together”.
 
…Consistency.
 
Granted, MLP ain’t perfect, but daaaaaaaaaang son. Dr. Who takes the cake for wibbly-wobbly rules on time travel :p

ok serious theory time. “twilight will not outlive her friends.” what they’re going to do is discover that twilight’s been a pawn of the zoidbergs all along, but thinks she’s in control. but when the truth comes out, everypony is calling for her blood, the main 6 still can’t bear to kill her. and she’s too messed up for them to reason with; they need an expert’s help on this.
 
so they drag evil twilight forcibly into the doctor’s tardis, saving her from the angry mob who would otherwise have torn her apart in her unconscious state, and take her back to their own time, where she gets help from the only pony who can get through to her now, the princess of friendship! in the grim future, twilight has effectively ceased to exist as soon as all her friends buggered off, thus fulfilling the prophecy. in the not so grim past, the two twilights working together will either discover a method to ascend their friends to princesshood, or figure out a way to cut out the tongue of that stupid prophet before she goes and says something even stupider about the new timeline. and since the ponies are able to plan for it beforehand, the zoidbergs barely make it to outer orbit before the earth defense friendship cannon blasts them into quarks.

Implying those two aren’t the same :p

I wonder if Spike is going to leave out that the Crimson Changling was hiding among the resistance’s ranks, and not just some random guard they captured. I imagine that would have quite the destabilizing effects on his followers’ confidence in their peers.

The awesome part for me in this part of the fan-story is how Spike is shown with such a great control of his skills now. I find it a little hard though, I mean, hard to see him distrusting Twilight even after 7 years, I’d have loved to see him piecing some of the small things together.

Aw, man, at the pace this comic does dialogue, a full epic speech will take quite awhile, though most likely it’ll be massively abridged…
 
Also, they’re totally going to get into a “kill the princess” frenzy, and so it’ll be great when it turns out they don’t need to kill her but they don’t get the memo and keep trying to kill her, not learning like the mane five that Twilight was actually locked up in the cocoon the whole time.
