Even with the same voice actors, they’d need everything to be the same; writing, animation, characters… It’s a shame, but even with all THAT… people don’t understand that it’s really hard to enjoy a show you once enjoyed; your mind’s changed, your tastes have changed… it never had a chance.
Or “bath salts”.
If they had kept the same voice actors, I think the remake would have been received much more amicably. I don’t know whether that was feasible or not, but it really helped kill the remake before it had a chance.
Unfortunately, even if it was good, the original would always be seen as better in the view of those who liked it, which, sadly, is one of the same audiences the remake was made for.
