You should probably use something else that HDMI in case the source is using HDCP. But perhaps HDCP isn’t a thing in China.
And why would you turn HDMI into analogue anyway?
with everything HDMI, having something with hdmi in, and analog out is pretty much a “special box” now and days.
You don’t need a “special box”,
as long as the set-top box has analogue out,
it should work just fine.
you can watch hd content on CRT’s with special boxes. Funnily enough when i was in Reno NV just this last May my apt room had a CRT with digital cable box…. yeah… thats a thing.
