it doesn’t vary from person to person, is the thing. most people have the same reaction to the drug, especially SSRIs. it’s dangerousky paranoid to assume that its effect varies, based on the testimony of proven outliers. better to assume it’ll have the effect it does on 90% of the population, and change the medication for the few whom it doesn’t.

SSRI’s themselves aren’t that agreeable at times. I’ve been on them (and another type of medication), with some unpleasant side effects. But that kind of thing varies from person to person, of course.

yes, when I said they try to use stuff like SSRIs first, before resorting to atypicals, I meant that when the former don’t work, then they use the latter.
 
you seem just fine in what medicine you’re using. I’m just saying that even among people with mental maladies, it’s a drug most of them only see used for schizophrenics and the really crazy bipolars.

They gave it to me for anxiety and mild hallucinations. And yeah, it’ll make me pretty groggy if I don’t get a cup of coffee after taking it (as well as moving around, which kind of convinces my body that it’s “active time”, you know?). Luckily, I don’t drive or operate any kind of heavy machinery, so the general grogginess doesn’t really do much to get in the way of work.
 
I’ve tried other medications for my anxiety problems, but most of them either didn’t work or they actively made things worse. Zoloft, for example, was an absolute nightmare. As for the hallucinations, I haven’t had a single med I’ve taken aside from the quetiapine help with that =/ .
 
The only real issue that I’ve experienced with my quetiapine is that I’ll sometimes get a little nauseous. I’ve mostly been able to deal with that with ginger pills and normal over-the-counter nausea meds.

that stuff’s bad for your heart, and a sedative, so they try to use stuff like SSRIs first, before resorting to it. also the usa is run by drug lords, so they prevent people from using it for “a lot of other stuff” in order to push hard drugs. most people there will never even hear about it unless they’re outright batshit looney.

Those meds can be used to treat schizophrenia, yes, but they can also be used to treat anxiety disorders, bipolarism, and a lot of other stuff.

yes, she figured that one out right away.
 
but there are other reasons they could be keeping her treatment secret from her. if it’s experimental and they’re using her as a guinea pig but still trying to heal her, or if it’s dangerous and they don’t want to admit they’ve given up on her and are just throwing things at her at this point. considering twilight’s relatively placid behavior however, and lack of self-harming behaviors, there’s no good excuse for hiding it from her. she has a very strong case for mistreatment/malpractice here, if she can get the ear of the right ponies.
 
there’s also the possibility that she’s in the thrall of an evil shadow nightmare creature, that’s only putting up a veneer of a normal life in order to wear down her mental defenses. then the extra machines/pills don’t have to do anything at all, they’re just ways to make twilight feel worried and vulnerable.

They’re the ones making you insane.
