Because… how to say it in a halfway diplomatic way… Sonata isn’t the brightest candle on the chandelier.
 
She got herself a skirt that she thought looked cute.
 
First mistake: She has never understood that this skirt was meant to be worn over leggings or tights. So she wears it on bare skin.
 
Second mistake: She has never even once looked at herself in the mirror while wearing this skirt.
 
Result: The girls stare at her. The boys ogle her. Eventually Aria mentions to her how short her skirt is, how it’s technically impossible for her to even sit somewhere, anywhere, without exposing herself, and points her at her own reflection in a large enough window-pane.
 
Now we’re talking about Aria. She’s honest enough to be rather blunt about Sonata’s misdecision. But she’s also cruel enough to first let Sonata run around in a glorified loincloth for days without saying a word.

She just realised how short her skirt is, and that a lot of people have seen her panties.
