Description

Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Midna Commissioned request by to craft a custom pony figure of Princess Midna from the Nintendo video game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This is the 4th Midna custom I’ve done since 2007! Special requests for this version was for me to carve a small hole somewhere on the custom where a button could be inserted from inside, and wiring so the figure will “talk”. Because of this I also left the head detatched for the customer and gave them instructions on how to super glue the head on. Meanwhile her head is temporarily held in place by a severed pony leg lodged into her neck hole Pony base is a generation 1 sweetheart sister pose the customer mailed to me. Coated entire figure in white gesso to create a canvas for the acrylics, full body repaint in pale gray acrylics. Midna’s body pattern is painted in charcoal black acrylics then 3 shades of aqua for the tribal markings, then glow in the dark paints over top. Eyes hand-painted by me also in my anime/realism-fusion style. Paint work sealed, added the glow in the dark paints after sealing. Tried to get photos of the glowing paint but did not show up in photos but it looks stunning in person. Cut her ears off so hair style and hood fit better, mane and tail rooted in 2 packages of dollyhair mlp nylon hair in the colors marmalade and custom blend of tigerlily with nectarine. For the hair tie on the front, I strung metallic beads on floral wire, painted them in beiges then tied a strip of beige leather. Outfit- started with the sleeves. Hand-stitched, line with white bias tape and vanilla white acrylic detailing. Then I did a under-sash layer on one flank, painted it in acrylic detailing that required some red. Added a silver jewelry chain for the belt, plastic gold beads on wire for the anklet with a gold necklace chain. Next, I did the main over-coat layer. Started with the aqua layer and traced it over the black then painted with layers in acrylic detailing, stitched them together, then inverted the piece. Hood-stitched then lined with the white bias tape along the bottom, added a vinyl strip with 2 eyelets over the top, stitched a orange cream wide ribbon and attached it to the forehead and tied on the back of the hood, made 2 strings of real silver long beads on floral wire and strung them through the eyelets. Red rhinestone in the middle of the forehead. The fishbone accessories start off with toothpicks with beads wired to them and glued in place. Then painted all the beads and sticks in grays, green, metallic silver, blue on the sticks sticking up and beige on the wooden beads.
