oh that’s amazing. it seems that tifinagh might go all the way back to phonenician, as opposed to any of the aramaic or greek alphabets. I’ve never seen it before. you didn’t want to give them names in actual taureg, for words like “twilight” and “flutter”?
I had that thought for a moment, but that would imply trying to learn a pretty niche language, and by the time I’d get done with that the enthusiasm I felt for doing this would be gone.

in the desert, the air is hotter than body temperature, so you won’t lose heat from exposed skin, but the air is so dry that (loose) heavy robes don’t prevent sweat from evaporating. furthermore the robes reflect the infrared radiation from the sun that your exposed skin would absorb. or at least… that’s what I’ve heard.
Tamasheq is the name for the Taureg language. Their alphabet is called Tifinagh. The complex thing about it in doing what I wanted for this was that there’s a lack of 1:1 translation of one letter to another. I mostly stuck to neo-Tifinagh.
And per the robes, it’s what the Taureg typically wear/wore. Or at least the ones still living nomadically.
As I hear too, apperantly those heavy robes are actually the most comfortable for desert wear. But I decide for humor purposes they’re not fit for flying ;).
is… tamasheq an actual language? I’ve never seen letters like that. one is just… a triangle? those thick robes should protect them from the harsh sun, but how is rainbow dash going to fly?
