@Zahnrad: I was taking into the fact that Nyx is a fan character and Nightmare Rarity isn’t, and timeline placement possibilities, into consideration.

Plus, she needs lighter skin. The black on the body worked as a pony largely because of the fact that she (understandably) bore resemblance to Nightmare Rarity. But not here. Especially when considering that Luna has a light skin tone herself, despite possessing a dark coat color as a pony.
