Discord: I’m glad you like to know, Sweetie Belle. There’s a light on that tree. It won’t light on one side. So I’ll take it home to my workshop, my dear. I’ll fix it out there and I’ll bring it back here.”
Sweetie Belle giggled: “I hope you learned about Dr. Seuss was a very good storybook.”
Discord laugh: “It’s called the title of How the Grinch stole Christmas and yes, for once, I agreed with you.”
It was an amazingly bizarre film. For true mind-bending madness and horror go and hunt down ‘Little Red Riding Hood and the Monsters’. It looks like it was shot by a crew stoned out of their gourds and the budget was whatever they could dig out of a couch.
@Beau Skunky
I read Santa vs Pitch and think of Rise of the Guardians rather than the movie mentioned. Saw a small clip of it and thought it was funny.
Santa VS Pitch was amusing.
“I’m here to eat candy canes, and kick ass! And I’m all out of candy canes!” (Yes, I’m a huge MST3k fan.)
How about the Mexican Santa Claus movie* or Christmas Story 2: Ralphie’s Quest To Get Laid**?
** – Okay, I made that subtitle up. But that is the point of the movie.
The Lorax was fun but he should have been voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.
I guess some things don’t translate to live-action well.
I loved the set & prop designs in the Grinch though.
Makes sense. Can’t blame her, I suppose.
I haven’t seen that one, but that one seems alot more disliked.
In fact, rumor has it that Dr. Seuce’s widow disliked the Mike Myers “Cat in the Hat” movie so much, she’ll only allow them to make animated movies of her husband’s works now.
I, too, enjoyed how they gave more depth to the Grinch and its characters.
Cat in the Hat was meh in its story expansion, but made up for its bouts of comedy.
Well, not all adaptations need to be 100% accurate. I kinda liked how they made Cindi Lou into an actual character, and such. I also liked how it had some nods to the old Chuck Jones cartoon too, but didn’t emulate it exactly.
I liked the movie okay on its own merits.
But as an adaptation of the original book, it disappointed.
What I liked best about “8 Crazy Nights,” was it was pretty much the only PG-13 2D animated movie in 2 decades nearly. Every other animated movie was either a family flick, or a rated R adult only thing, (nothing against either of those) and hardly anything in-between. I kinda wish we had more stuff like that, that’s more “grown-up,” but not too vulgar.
Plus while I admit Adam Sandler’s more recent flicks have been hit-or-miss, (though, I still like him & his older movies despite what critics say) it felt more like classic Adam Sandler where it wasn’t just wacky vulgar comedy, and oddly had some serious & sad moments in it.
Never saw that other movie you mentioned in spoiler text though. So I can’t have an opinion on it.
Same. As well as 8 Crazy Nights
And Cat in the Hat.
I liked the movie, I don’t care what the Nostalgia Critic, and such say…
Mystery Science Theater 3000 version
whats that supposed to say?
Mst3k version?
