What the Fluff?
You guys are missing the joke behind this image. The Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim are a secret group of assassins/killers/general bad-doers. If you want to become a member, you have to be invited. To be invited, you have to kill someone first. Then if they want you, you’ll eventually find a note like this.
 
The implication here is one of them killed someone.

100+ years ago lots of gangster types would leave threatening notes signed with just a black ink handprint to try to extort money from rich people. Then police found out about these things called fingerprints. D’OH
