Yes there are some episodes where they kinda went overboard. I usually just skip the parts where I see pony messing up too much.
It should be more funny that cringing.
I used to watch with my daughter, but she’s watched the whole lot now on POP!, so she starts telling me what’s going to happen, which kinda spoils it.
Watching on my own just doesn’t feel right to me somehow.
Also, the episode I needed to watch next in sequence seems cringeworthy in the extreme. (It’s the episode where Rarity starts trying to act like Applejack because she fancies a stallion that comes in to town).

Oh. Funny, I am actually caught up with the show myself after 2-3 years of hiatus.
I recommend you watching the later seasons if you wish to.
Still so far behind with the show I haven’t watched the episode where they get their cutie marks.
In fact, I haven’t even watched all of season FOUR yet!
