Description

(Sorry in advance to those who don’t like ponies. My roommate wanted more pony art from me and I figured I’d make this to see where my current skill level is for ponies.)This is the version of Penwrite my roommate envisions. In her fanfic, ponies have special hair caps that are made of solid cloth to keep hair from escaping and are washable, often leading them to get easily stained, but come in a variety of patterns tp at least be presentable while still meeting proper standards.Penwrite uses hers for her work and, given that she works with a lot of dyes and bleaches, her cap suffers so that her hair doesn’t. It would also be improper to get hair made into her paper products after all. She keeps her tail in a braid instead of another cap since she isn’t under as much obligation as, say, the maids or chefs of Canterlot City and Canterlot Castle. This is also why the fabric of Penwrite’s cap is actually colored.Although paper can be made in factories, Penwrite has taken up the craft of traditional paper-making, which is why she helps to make the special paper of the Royal Sisters. The paper protects against forgery thanks to its very special ingredients as well as creation method and materials specially reserved for this task. A whole room in Penwrite’s shop is dedicated to just the paper she makes for the Royal Sisters to better prevent contamination. This isn’t from any exact scene, just what she probably looks like on a normal day.I personally envision her to not need a cap, but that her hair being put in a ponytail is enough or that a stray hair or two is easy to get out of a mixture. She would also specialize in more commission work in making spell-specific paper (for example, paper made with special plants that aid in a spell plus Earth pony magic one can only get from the TLC of an Earth pony using traditional work, based off the ideology in new-age magic that things work better if you make them yourself). Although she has many special screens of all shapes and sizes, she would charge extra to make a special screen if it needs to be custom or has to dedicate a set to a particular type of paper. This description is more about my roommate’s version than who Penwrite is, so sorry much isn’t said. This took maybe 9-10 hours total and it’s still painfully basic because I’m an amateur who clearly can’t draw to save their life lol. Enjoy the pony-tactic eye cancer!original My Little Pony concept belongs to Hasbro, fancharacter Penwrite belongs to me
