No, Whitley was the one suggesting that but Anderson got some of that idea into this comic. But he made it way worse turning Discord into a comeplete OOC wuss. Even on the show it would have to be either Fluttershy or close friends who were able to hurt him emotionally. Note some bg ponies that he used to torture with black vines in S4. And it wasn’t even that hurtfull, they just told him to stop bothering them, no one said they wanted to turn him into pure order or something. Its a rushed sensless plotline that is inconsitent with his episodes and previous comics written by Whitley.

this was the worst possible reason to make him turn into Accord. Basically “some ponies were mean to me”. Only Anderson could write this.
