@Perteks: Except how does Nyx not have any “sensible bad sides”, as you describe? Like I said, she’s not infallible. She’s made mistakes, and is called out on it. And I’m pretty sure naivete is a “sensible bad side”, one that makes her stronger instead of weaker.

From what I learned on the internet a “Mary Sue” is “any character that I don’t like”. Its how I see it used anyways.

Nyx is just typicall mary sue nothing more nothing less :> Starlight was okaish (even with shitty backstory but that quite common in mlp) on start but after reformation is just ughh

Not to mention, Nyx is neither infallible, a power fantasy, idealized, or a stand-in for Pen Stroke. And having a few character traits here or there doesn’t make one a “Mary Sue”. If anything, you’re just calling hef a “Mary Sue” simply because you don’t like her. Which is what Zahnrad was trying to get at in bringing up Starlight Glimmer, as there’s a certain hypocrisy in anyone that likes Starlight Glimmer but hates Nyx. And how would you feel if I started to call Chrysalis a “Mary Sue”?
