It was an hour after dawn and Sunset Shimmer was /tired/. She had been up all night with her Twi, looking for locator spells to find her step-daughter. Moonlight had been gone far too long, and Twilight had become borderline manic in her need to find her firstborn.

She was nodding off when her beloved purple alicorn’s wings shot up in excitement, “SUNSET!” She squealed, “I THINK ZECORA IS A CHANGELING!”

“Um… what?” Sunset peered at her wife with one barely-open eye, “That Zebra you’re friends with? If she’s a changeling don’t you think she would have told us? I mean… Queen Chrysalis is basically your daughter-in-law now…”

“Well…” Twilight sighed a bit and illuminated a paragraph with her horn, “It says here that when Celestia and Luna found the Tree of Harmony they found a Zebra named Zecora crying at its base. At first I didn’t think much of it, right? Because it might be a family name?”

“Okay…?” Sunset snuck a kiss onto Twilight’s cheek, “Why are you thinking so much of it now?”

“Be/cause/ I just remembered that when I last met with a Zebra, he told me that Zebras never re-use names! Ever!” Twilight was on her feet now, practically vibrating in place, “We need to go to the Everfree Forest! Right NOW!”

“Twilight… you don’t need to be rash like this, we don’t know that she’s done anything wrong…” Sunset cautioned, “Moonlight will turn up when she wants to…”

Twilight turned on her wife and huffed, “If it was Sunrise missing, would you be acting like this?!” She demanded.

“Twi…” Sunset cautioned, “Sunrise is a tiny filly, Moonlight is the same age you were when you first harnessed the Elements of Harmony. Of course I would be more worried about Sunrise!” She sighed, “I loved Flash once too, you know. And I know that he would be telling you the same thing I am- let Moonlight come home on her own.”

“Still!” Twilight glared, “I AM going to find out the truth about that Zebra!”
