I’m not likely to ever actually draw her parents in action (they go against everything I want to see monster pones doing too), but they’re part of the reason why the slimia is like she is. It also has to do with her being very stupid and honestly not even realizing the gravity of what “evil” actually means :P

It’s a little of both. In my continuity lamias are very fond of cuddling and physical shows of affection because of their instinctive desire to share body heat. Right down to where their first move when they like and/or want to get to know someone is to wrap them up and get physical.
 
Needless to say, this does cause problems when attempted with ponies that not only tend to misinterpret it as an attempt to bite or constrict, buut also tend to habitually run from a percieved thread :P

Wonder how warm snek hugs can get? Maybe Kali just wants to coil up with GMHAA for warmth.
