How long do you spend on your drawings?

Even when I use references, my art looks like shit.
There are thousands of drawing tutorials all over the internet. In my limited experience, the most important skills to learn are perspective and anatomy.
I can see a bird … a snake … a foot … a monkey …
and a hairy mutated potato with legs and a face.
I drew all the time as a kid, and my art looks no better now than it did back then.
The user can have forgotten to turn it off. – But in case it’s enabled, sure. But do people even know this?
However, for Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter … you can publish something in public and not wanting it to be shared outside of that service (unless you can prove that it’s written in the terms of service).
You shouldn’t have to keep something private to not have it being shared all over the internet.
Uploading someone elses art anywhere without permission is stealing.
Do you see these on pages where art is posted?
Both of these are editable share/reblog panels which provide easy means for posting art– with credit and links– on other sites. Both are customizable and can be turned off or limited in the account settings to prevent reposting. Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter require only one checkbox to make an account private. Posting something on a site which includes reposting features and/or private-only features is permission.
I don’t care who uploaded it either. But there’s still am uploading community here.
I can agree that other sites are also hassle to use, and Derpibooru is a well developed site. The publicly editible tags is a huge help.
It can be completed when it comes to fair use, I can agree. But Derpibooru is not fair use.
I will also agree that fan art itself can be copyright and trademark infringing as they’re drawing someone else’s characters. However, that doesn’t give you the right to share that art in that case. – Fan art is often considered okay as it’s made in good faith, in respect, and companies often have no issue with it, as long as it stays out of their area (full length animations and dolls, in Hasbro’s case).
Well, you might be correct on your last statement. I should be reading into it more. However, making the content available somewhere else can affect ad-revenue, and the artist might not just know why.
I never even look at who uploaded something and have never cared. For me, the only way I even find artists is on derpibooru. Other sites are just too much of a hassle. Convenience, really. It’s the uploader’s own idiotic fault if they feel like they are getting anything more than the pleasure of spreading someone’s art to more people by uploading (as should be the reason to upload things you didn’t make). Likes and favs do nothing for the uploader, except maybe giving some of them a meaningless buzz.
Err, I’m pretty sure it’s a lot more complicated than you’re making it out to be.
On one hand, most artist are probably gratuitously violating Hasbro’s copyrights and/or trademarks through their works, which probably puts their rights to the copywritten material in question.
On the other hand, reproducing an artistic work doesn’t guarantee that it is a violation. Just ask Google or any image searching site, they regularly serve and reproduce full size copies of images they index. As I understand it, so long that a site follows certain rules (like allowing content holders to request content removal), they’re legally in the green. I believe this is covered in the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act, if you want to read up.

It’s a bit of easy publicity … someone makes good art, you publish it here, the upvotes are counted towards you as an uploader, and not to the artist. It’s not about the art, but about being the uploader of the art.

That is a great thing. Gives a bit more focus on the artist, than the uploader.
I like those uploaders who takes a step back, and let the art shine on it’s own

If I uploaded someone else’s art on my DeviantArt, I would get lynched.
But if I upload someone else’s art on Derpiboory, it’s all suddenly okay…
No. Giving credits or source does not excempt it from the copyright laws (which is almost the same all over the world). – The only thing you need is permission.
Derpibooru is running by the “shot first, ask questions later”; by stealing art, and waiting for artist to ask them to take it down, and be placed on the DNP-list (Do Not Post).
Most artist who have art here are okay with it … I for one am okay with my art being here. But that doesn’t give Derpibooru any legal rights to do it.
I won’t stop Derpibooru; but you must realise that it is still illegal. Don’t think it’s okay.

Copyright prevents you from “reproduce the work by making copies of it”, ie, uploading it on Derpibooru.

With proper credits, and a link back to the source, I perfectly agree. But, judging by my PM’s it varies from people to people…
