It’s unlikely. Either Chrysalis or a new villain will come in, so i’m not sure if it’ll have enough time for Starlight.

Yes, but there is still one character who hasn’t been resolved yet.

Now, however you feel about her character, you can’t deny that she’s now a mane character in the show. As much as she can be while sharing the spotlight with 6 other ponies, but still. From everything we’ve seen of the movie, Starlight will not be there, so that means that it won’t be the end, because if Starlight’s character arc hasn’t been completed, they won’t just end the show like that. They can’t just leave her without any resolution.
 
Besides. The most likely reason for the series going on past the movie is that the toy sales are still going strong. As long as that stays true, they will not end the show.
 
So… yay for greedy Hasbro? =/

Honsestly without going full Chicken Little,you gotta admit that there’s more sign pointing that FIM is nearer to its end than the beginning when you take into account all the storyline that concluded so far (Rainbow Dash achieved her dream to become a Wonderbolt,Rarity is opening new shop for her franchise left and right in Equestria,Twilight Sparkle is a princess,the CMC got their cutie marks)

MLP:FiM is ending after the movie; there’s no doubt about that. The only question is when: Will the series end with the movie or with season 8 or 9 or…

Season 8 is the sign of infinity therefore everything in the end is but a dream that loops us around back to season 1 and comes full circle

Trust me, so long as it keeps making money on merch its not going anywhere. They are also getting a lot of money overseas with things like equestria girls live musicals, but im sure they are going to ride this train till it dies and it doesnt seem to be stopping yet. Season 7 and 8 are ALREADY paid for… so we know thats coming, 7 definately not 100% sure on 8.
 
But maybe by season 10 it may end “Question Mark?”
 
They have yet put all the seasons on blu ray for some ungodly reason (it was blu ray overseas but not here). Once they put it all on blu ray and we get to season 10 maybe it could be a stopping point. Unless it turns into a naruto, one piece or bleach situation where it just keeps going forever.

Hasbro will keep making MLP as long as it makes money. Its that simple.
 
will it keep the same formula? who knows, but as long as the cartoon sells toys they will keep making cartoons.
