They unfortunaty ended up changing it cause the heads of animation at the studio at the time saw how those kind of films didn’t turn out so well for them (example, Hunchback of Notre Dame)

It’s a fascinating watch into how some of the creation of Disney films happen and I highly recommend it to animation enthusiasts and Emperors New Groove fans

It was going to be a bit darker and have this big epic feel to it originally called The Kingdom of the Sun and was being directed by Roger Allers, one of the directors of the Lion King.
