@Beau Skunky
Oh my god, did you just hear that?
There, that! He did it again!
Dude, you’re breathing. I’m so triggered.
Edited
She’s still Twilight, just with new responsibilities.
To be fair, she’s more of a figurehead, then an actual “leader,” and actually some (like Glimmer) did notice her being an alicorn. (And Ponyville is pretty much used to her wings by now.)
Because it would slow down episodes something fierce so unless it’s a plot point, ponies get over it supernaturally quick.
This isn’t about the drama, this is about the change itself.
I liked Twilight as she was before MMC, because when she and her friends weren’t saving the day from some great evil, she was just living a normal life as a normal everyday librarian. She was joining her friends on various slice of life adventures and, at the first glance, she didn’t stand out from the crowd in any way.
But now she has those glaringly obvious wings, has the supposed role of a leader of a nation, has this freaking castle, and no amount of them trying to make her still act as she did before can possibly fix it. (Not only that, but it also creates lots of fridge logic: why isn’t anybody ever surprised whenever they see a freaking alicorn pass by?)
No kidding, I’m apparently good at offending people, and I don’t know why…
Recently, I jokingly called Nintendo-haters “commies,” in an off-handed not to be taken serious silly way, and somebody really spazzes out on me about that, and insists I’m the commie.
I bet I could offend somebody just by breathing.
Really!? Well, people do love being offended.
@Claw
Don’t be like that. It changed too much for his/her taste, so don’t be a dick about them having a different tolerance than you.
I thought it was pretty funny all the anti-brony Tumblr SJW MLP fans thought that was a shot against them.
Then honestly, I have no respect for you if some puny alicorn drama can make you stop enjoying the show that you used to love so much.

You’re missing some great things, including a crazy woman that’s obsess with equality.
Nightmare Moon actually does come back later in the series (in a flashback, and also in an alternative timeline where she wins) and does get to do a li’l more,
It wasn’t so much the “cheese,” but it was before I got to understand the show, so it just felt like a Barbie Adventure video my niece watches at first. It also didn’t really show off the characters’ personalities well at first.

Which is funny, because the pilot, as cheesy as it was, was the reason I decided to check the show out. I guess the awesome appearance of Nightmare Moon helped quite a lot.
(Though I lament that she didn’t do more with her powers than teasing the Main 6.)
And honestly I think people have too much rose-colored nostalgia over Season 1. It was a good start for the series, but it too had flaws, some cookue-cutter episodes, animation errors, barely any continuity, (like ignoring Luna & Zecora’s existence) status-quo, occasional flanderization, and such.
When I first saw the first two episodes of the entire series, I didn’t quite “get it,” at first or understood the appeal of the show. It wasn’t until I saw the episodes after I started to “get it,” and become a fan. The pilot wasn’t bad, it just didn’t connect with me at first.
Then answer Spike At Your Service, please.
Anyway, personally I think that the only season (from the ones I watched) that was consistently good was Season 1. Seasons 2 and 3 had me going “meh” or just being unimpressed many times, and SAYS had me absolutely fuming with anger. Even so, a good portion of the episodes from these seasons are ones I’m perfectly fine with accepting as canon (with some tweaks here and there).
Then the Twilicorn fiasco happened, and eventually Eight Deadly Words have settled in for me and I eventually stopped watching the show. Now I’m seeing Twi, her castle, those new characters who look like OCs, and I just can’t bring myself to care even if I wanted to.
Look, every episode have its good and bad sides but there is no bad episode in whole MLP so far.

What are you talking about? During the Season 3 year, this very site had almost nothing, but complaining about it. (Especially, the Twilicorn, and EqG movie controversies.) Heck, some users wouldn’t even allow some of us to give “Equestria Girls” the benefit of the doubt. (I actually caught crap for that here to the point I almost left Derpi.)
Heck, half the people here only like the earlier episodes, and many here tell me they don’t even watch the show anymore. So “everyone” is a very bad choice of words on your part. We’re not all just one opinion here.
Even I’ll admit I don’t love everything about the show. Heck I didn’t like the episode “P.P.O.V. Pony Point of View.” (As it kinda Flanderized my 3 fav’ ponies in the series, and made them seem rather petty.)

Same to you. But everyone nowadays drools over the crap of later seasons without any sense

I know, it’s just that nostalgia can blind you if you let it.
Old & new all have their flaws, and positives.
Everyone has their taste. Just be careful you don’t become blind to their flaws.
Ok, fair enough. I was just saying that I enjoyed the old ones a lot.
