I agree with “does keep it from escalating or for some to even find they have such a fetish.” I have a preference for that kind of stuff, and I do believe it developed from being exposed to it during my formative years browsing the internet. Honestly it is difficult to deal with the shame I feel, like a mental illness, and if I hadn’t been exposed to it in the first place maybe I wouldn’t carry this burden of self-loathing and disgust. It sucks, I don’t like it, but there’s nothing I can do about it but tuck it away in the deepest corner of my mind and pretend it doesn’t exist. Therefore, seeing stuff like this brings those feelings to the surface which is harmful. That’s why rules like #5 exist.
 
But guess what? I’m still probably going to look for it, and probably clop to it. Sigh.

Dude we all know it’s iffy but like a lot of laws it has its reasons to exist. Yes there are children who mature fast and mentally and emotionally retarded adults who might as well be 8 years old.
 
But because of how odd rape laws are around the world, it’s far easier to put an age limit where it’s bad no matter what you do to protect as many people as possible who are deemed not ready to choose their own way. And banning this fetish as much as possible, while it doesn’t stop it, does keep it from escalating or for some to even find they have such a fetish. Which in the long run can save far more people than it hurts psychologically.

The fact that the laws in place have NOTHING to do with protecting children, and everything to do with attacking someone who’s got a fetish they don’t like, is insanely depressing.
 
If a 5yr had her mind put into an adults body, she’d be legal. If an adult had their mind put into a child’s body, that’d be a crime. The law is sick.

It’s not a cartoon horse. It’s a character that is very human like and has a human body structure with some superficial details.  
Anthro is a very gray area for the reason it’s still humanized and humanoid. I don’t personally agree with those laws but saying it’s anthro character is as a valid defence as someone claiming the drawing of an underage looking character is a 1000 year old vampire.  
It’s more trouble than it’s worth.

I presume one reason why some countries forbid it is something like if a prosecutor argues being into cartoon child prawn is a “gateway drug”. As the board post says, America don’t care, but hosting the servers there instead of Europe is ten times more expensive. :L

Can you imagine a court case involving anthro foalcon? It would be an insult to all reason, human intelligence and a mockery of justice itself. “Your honor I move that this man go to prison for having porn of a cartoon horse someone in the government didn’t like.” Sometimes I just want to see the Earth annihilated.

Yes. If you read the post I linked to, it does describe how rule 5 used to be implemented.  
Certain levels of underage characters were removed. Since the time of that post. The rule was extended to cover all forms of anthro foalcon.

One of the images I uploaded was taken down due to rule 5, and it was uploaded before September 2.

If you see anthro foalcon uploaded to the site then you should report it. As we do not personally review every individual image that is uploaded. So some images do slip through from time to time.
 
If you’re talking about images uploaded over 5 months ago. Those are only allowed to stay as they were uploaded before the rules were updated.
