Njau
Born to the vast and beautiful Zebrican nation Njau has always been a Zebra driven by his insatiable curiosity. A youth spent exploring and adolescence honing his body and spirit as a warrior, Njau came to know every nook and cranny of his village like the back of his hand; knowledge that aided him into becoming the personal guard of any royal dignitaries that came to his home nation.
Between his duties and his unquenchable curiosity for the unknown that only thing that could quell his restless spirit was the study of the spiritual arts, while he longed to learn from one of the greatest of Shamans ever bore from Zebrica, Zecora, by the time he learned of her existence she’d apparently long since departed for Equestrians to further her knowledge; leaving him to settle for books in her stead.
For a while this managed to appease his spirits.
At least until his village received a visit from four particular luminaries.
Rumors had spread that the once fabled Crystal Empire had risen from the depths of its frozen prison and proof if this came in the form of the Princess of Love, and her husband coming to his home - accompanied by the Princesses of the Sun and Moon to re-establish long lost social and political bonds.
And Njau was placed in charge of guiding them around the village in their free time.
He was quick to bond with the pair that had the least involvement with the discussions, Stallion known as Shining Armor his responsible, yet over-reactive personality quite amusing and endearing; and Princess Luna whose rigid and out of place demeanor was quite fun to rattle with his natural informal cadence.
It was through them that he was able to learn of the lands of Canterlot, Ponyville, and the Crystal Empire; reigniting the flame in his belly for witnessing the unknown like never before.
It wasn’t long before his home grew far too small for him, never had he felt more like a frog in a well than he did now; Njau needed to see everything the world had to offer.
And so he parted ways with Zebrica, the blessings of his friends and family on his shoulders as the world opened for him to discover all the secrets she holds…
