The issue had a solid main hook, which is that Dash has known the senior Wonderbolts as these larger-than-life heroes and has always tried to brag and swagger around them to fit in, but they’ve got insecurities and doubts just like anyone else. Soarin didn’t step straight into the team, he had to earn it, and he still wonders if he really did. Spitfire might be a great flight leader and disciplinarian, but she can sometimes overlook the feelings of her teammates and not know how to make up for it.
 
My only regret is this story isn’t in the show proper. I hope their dynamic gets the same treatment in an episode next season.

The “Friends Forever” comics tend to be higher quality than the Main Story ones, because they are centered around a pair of characters and how they interact, instead of trying to force everyone into some grand narrative.

Agreed 100%. In a series where the main characters don’t get many chances for serious romance, this was more than enough for me as a SoarinDash shipper. There’s a lot of potential for either a platonic or romantic relationship with them, and I love it!

theres plenty to go off of here for shipping :P yes its obvious that were not gonna get snuggles, kissu, or surprise buttsex in any of the comics. but for a story setup like this and all the scenes we got with this particular comic gives you as close to shipping scenes as possible as your gonna get………way more than enough for fanfics and fanart!

I’m quite glad for ‘very little shipping’ here, This one actually looks like a good read, and I tend to dread the comics.
