Huh, interesting. So maybe not uncanny by itself, but compared to other stuff like it, it’s unusual. In that case I’ll take that as a compliment, heh.
Also, there’s an updated version in the source with a better background and quite a few other improvements for anyone interested.
Dunno, I can’t quite put my finger on it. Somehow she looks like she is made of white terracotta and her wings are paper. It looks good artistically, I’m just used to either a toon style, failed realism, oiled ponies, or gmod ponies. Mostly things look out of place with a realistic background, but this one fit so well it threw me. I mostly dabble in low-poly stuff myself, so I’m no expert. After seeing so much toon shading and oiled-up gmod anthros, this just threw me for a bit.
Oh? Are they too realistic or…?
The legs mostly.
It’s an early version. I’m trying to make a better version as we speak.
Still, if you’d like to tell me how it comes across as dipping into the uncanny valley, I’d appreciate hearing it.
Edited because: Clarification
I’m not seeing how
good filters and great models can make anything from 3d software look real
