The comic should be taken with a grain of salt. A huge one.

You know, this actually makes me wonder how often Celestia and Blueblood interact and how well she knows him. Really if seems like she just picked him at random. He’s described as her nephew, but they don’t really seem that close. She basically seems to treat him as another one of her school’s students here.

He could still be older. Note the difference between what’s being said:  
Twilight Sparkle is doing her entrance exam, while Blueblood is having the same test, but in order to advance a semester.

More like betraying it. Blueblood treated Shining Armor like a little brother, which led me to assume he was older, possibly even middle aged.
 
Of course, the show’s never been clear on just how old ponies get. Celestia and Luna being ancient yet still physically young doesn’t help any, either. Considering his aunts’ longevity, Blueblood could easily be centuries old and still look fairly young.

Am I the only person who wondered why Blueblood was around the same age as Twilight Sparkle in this comic? I got the impression from the Blueblood/Shining Armor FF comic that Blueblood was older than Twilight’s older brother. He shouldn’t be this young if we’re seeing filly Twilight pass her entrance exam.

From what I’ve heard and seen, it might have been better if the story hadn’t essentially been a one-note joke from beginning to end. That said, some readers enjoyed it so more power to them.

Well that was a really disappointing issue. I thought this was going to be an alternate tale where Blueblood is Celestia’s pupil and faces the same challenges Twilight went through. Boy was I mistaken, it’s just a long everybody hates Blueblood joke where everyone is a jerk and even slightly resembles canon or makes sense.

Agreed. If you want Bluesnob, go to FIMFiction. It’s free and probably better written and funnier to boot.
 
Seriously an opportunity to write an officially backed alternate universe Elseworlds style and they waste it on a Blueblood bash fic. I have low expectations, but god, just god I am disappointed. Pick a storyline that uses as little thought or creativity as possible, because I’ve seen dozens of them like this. I got tired of Blueblood bash fics four years and I don’t like bash fics in general. Boo, I expected better of you, IDW.
 
Should have really gone for the Pinkie Pie as an accountant for this comic. THAT would have been interesting and original.

Aaaaannnnnddddd it was rubbish. Worse than a prolonged Bluesnob joke, it was a prolonged Bluesnob joke that ended with a Bluevillian Crackfic punchline.

Twilight’s grade made me lol.

That’s actually a good sign for those who’d like to see more than the usual BlueSnob joke. The more pages there are, the greater the chance for a shift happening in the comic itself due to more time to establish such.

So it seems I’ve made a mistake: the comic is not the usual 22 pages, but 40 pages. So there are in fact 37 pages left, not 19.

Mixed reactions, probably. On the one hoof, he gets to be Celestia’s personal student. On the other, he gets to be Celestia’s personal student… meaning less time with him for anypony else.

I have to wonder how the teachers at Celly’s school liked hearing that Blueblood became her personal student. I mean, they probably had to take loads of crap off the little monster before this, but now?

Why do you think both are purple?  
A lot of fanfiction, makes the exam an insight into, how students handle failure, so Twilight was probably not meant to succeed in doing anything.
 
Fair trade should be easy, the dragons have useless eggs that the ponies have use of, the ponies have shinies that the dragons want.  
If a dragon eats some ponies, other ponies will not bring more shinies.  
Dragons are greedy not stupid.
