The one thing that bothers me here is why not make them sit normally like ponies it would still be an awesome draw and anatomic correct, this semi-anthro like just broke the picture, either you go anthro or go feral, this between is meh

I love how people have that one thing that breaks the deal for them. I mean, some people can accept cartoon effects like bouncing and stretching or even in the show, ponies break their forelegs all the time but somehow, when a fanart gets horse-anatomy wrong, it puts them off.
 
for me personally, my big no-no are really big ears. Some fanarts get the head / ear proportion so out of whack they look like rogue the bat/ bugs bunny/mickey mouse.
