Let me rephrase:
If you add something heavy at the top of a vessel, all you need to do to keep it from capsizing is to put something even heavier at the bottom. Imagine a plastic bottle. You want it to float vertically on the surface, and you want the bottle to be 1/2 submerged. But it’s far too tall to stay on the water vertically. So what do you do? The easiest way to manage this is to start filling it with rocks until it does.
