Yeah, I get there’s a quantum leap between two and three dimensions, but given how disgustingly simple minecraft’s realm is in the first place, I can’t imagine it’d be THAT hard to dev some realistic water algorithms.

In the way old version of minecraft, just one block of water could flood everything everywhere. Search it on youtube to see how it worked.
