I was referring to purple-haired unicorns, didn’t think that using fancy would pretty much leave it exclusive to Rarity only. Just the color of the manes–not necessarily their styles or how fancy they are, but thank you for the insight…took a day for me to realize that, but again thanks to all that caught it.

Technically, any unicorn with fancy purple hair can really do–Twilight falls in this catergory, as well as Sparkler (Amemthyst Star). And Moondancer kinda has some purple in her mane as well (though the primary is probably red)
…I just wonder what other unicorns other than Rarity that Spike kinda has been keeping an eye on…
 
Twilight’s is actually navy blue. One of her highlights is purple, though. Some merchandise also uses purple, but those are errors and/or being lazy.

You forgot about Starlight. Also, is the book referencing ‘fancy purple-haired unicorns’ (i.e. unicorns with fancy purple manes) OR is it supposed to be ‘fancy, purple-haired unicorns’ (i.e. unicorns with purple manes who are also fancy)? If the latter, really only Rarity fits the bill.
